THROUGH THE EYES OF A VOLUNTEER: HANNAH'S STORY
Before coming to serve at Touch Nature, I was worried that I wouldn't know how to serve the ladies here in a practical way and how to build relationships with people who I have never met before. I am also someone who cannot easily relate to another person, hence adding on to my worries of not being able to empathise with the ladies here.
However, after spending more than two weeks here with them, I realized I had underestimated what God can do with my heart. Instead of being unfeeling and only seeing them as projects to work on and people to minister to, God changed my heart and gave me new perspective to see things. He allowed me to see us, myself included not just them, as beloved daughters of the Most High having a past that have been redeemed by a merciful and loving God. That is what makes us all the same - broken people in need of a Saviour.
Through our daily interactions and conversations, I have seen so much strength and dignity in how these ladies live their lives. I have seen how they pour out love to children after having received God's love in their lives. I have also seen how they have been so hopeful in prayer, trusting in God's sovereignty and provision every day. Furthermore, it is so evident that they have given excellence to God in their work here. Truly, Touch Nature is where they can call a sanctuary, a home where they have experienced the healing and power of God, and tasted the goodness of God in their lives. Here in Touch Nature, it is like family I learned so many thing specially soaps and candle making like pure vanilla sea splash."
